Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, well known as Mahatma Gandhi, was born in Porbandar, Gujarat, in a tiny town (October 2, 1869 - January 30, 1948).

He was a politician, social activist, Indian lawyer, and writer who rose to prominence as the leader of India's statewide anti-British uprising.

He became renowned as the Father of the Country. Gandhi was a living embodiment of nonviolent resistance (Satyagraha) to free India from the shackles of the British Empire

Gandhi was the eldest of his father's fourth wife's children. Karamchand Gandhi served as the dewan Chief Minister) of Porbandar, a tiny municipality in western India at the time (now Gujarat state)

Putlibai, Gandhi's mother,  was a devout religious woman who had little need for jewellery or finery. She split her time between her home and the temple.

Nonetheless, he grew into a skilled campaigner overnight in July 1894, when he was only 25 years old. Several petitions to the British government and the Natal Legislature were written by him.

Despite this, he was convinced to practise law in Durban, and thereby formed the Indian community. In 1894, the Natal Indian Congress was created, and he became its unflappable secretary.

Gandhi returned to India in 1896 to reunite with his wife, Kasturba (or Kasturbai), and their two oldest children, as well as to rally support for Indians living abroad.

Mahatma Gandhi's death was a tragic occurrence that caused millions of people to mourn. Nathuram Godse, armed with an automatic weapon, arrived in Delhi on the 29th of January.

He proceeded to the Gardens of Birla House in the evening at 5 p.m., and out of nowhere, a man from the crowd stepped out and bowed before him.

He murmured the words Ram Ram as he died. Despite the fact that someone could have phoned a doctor in that emergency circumstances at the time, no one did, and Gandhiji died within half an hour.
